This was the most fun of the night! The dyno numbers indicated that I had the same peak power as the Stang, but my HP curve was much straighter than the 5.0's, which ment I should be able to pull on him on the top end. I spun badly right off the line, but every thing after that went great! It did not break loose in second. I had changed lanes and the left lane seemed better to me. I power shifted 3rd and 4th at 5,500 rpm. It seemed to like 55 insted of 6,000. The guy came up to me after the run and said,  "have you been sand-baggin us?" I thought I left you at the light! I looked and said, here that little Muther-F'er comes! ...Man, you pulled me three car lengths from the 1/8 th!"... No sand baggin, I Just got it hooked up a bit better, but I still blew the tires away in first and I was only at 6 PSI until I hit second gear. ...." Nice run", he said.  ..... This is a white slip, ---  (WINNER!)
This run, I was paired with that S-10, with a big block and street tires. So this slip is a yellow color. (LOOSER!)...I tweeked a little more boost in. I was at 12, so I went to 13-14 PSI. Low I left at 5-6, as low as I could get it. This time I was determined to SLIP the clutch and not the tires. I planted my heal down on the floor back on the stagging lanes and tried a couple of slip-launches, till I felt I had it. When I stagged, I only held the rpm up around 1,500. I decided to leave while the next to last yellow was still burning, cause the car would react slowly. The tires barely slipped at all, ... I'm not even sure I ever let the clutch out all the way. As soon as the tach hit 5500 I quick shifted to second and hit the button.... Damn!, ... The tires held!! Now she's pulling. I wound second a little too far and just hit the rev limiter as I power-shifted to third. I carried the tach all the way to 5500 and power-shifted fourth. Now,... the S-10 was back at the stand,...  eating a hot dog, but I managed my best time of the night! I am told that every tenth you gain on 60 ft time is equal to 2 tenths off your ET. And look it was almost exactly that! Plus you have to factor in a little more boost for top end HP too.  Very cool........
PT vs Stang video, takes 3-4 min to down load, sorry , I got it as small as I could. Right at the start, one of the guys with the girl taking the video, says jokingly, ... "$5 on the PT Cruiser!"  He ends up winning!
