The air cylinder pivots up out of the way to ease the removal of the head or any general working that needs to be done.
The aluminum platform the head sits on, is inserted into the rails of the metal like a picture frame, helping to support the force exerted upon it. The alum platform is covered by a rubber matt, to keep from scratching the head surface.
By using an air regulator instead of a switch, ... the movements of the cylinder are slowed down, to help accuracy of alignment of the retainer and spring and to reduce the risk of "pinching" your self with a fast moving cylinder ram. The air feed is restricted to help slow it also.
Thanks for looking in!
