| Custom turbo exhaust manifolds |
| After a number of installs on the PT Cruisers, .... I began to wish I had a manifold with a better location for the turbo. The kits use the cast iron manifold from the Mexican Stratus and that puts the turbo jammed up against the brake lines and too far back near the firewall. Here is my solution to that problem. |
| The engine on the left has my close fit ex manifold and a 20g turbo! I wanted to make sure we could put the bigger blower on with this configuration. The turbo on the right sticks out just over 9" from the head, towards the firewall. |
| By making the primary tubes longer and rolling the turbo down towarsd the block, ... I was able to close up that 9" distance to 6.5", ... even with the larger turbo. *NOTE; ... These welds are MIG welded, ... for rapid prototyping and would be TIG welded on production manifolds. |
